Tom Robinson Band (TRB) are a British rock band, established in 1976 by singer, songwriter and bassist Tom Robinson. The band's debut single "2-4-6-8 Motorway" was a top five hit on the UK Singles Chart in 1977, and their third single, "Up Against the Wall", is seen by some as a classic punk rock single; while their début album, Power in the Darkness (1978), is regarded as a definitive late Seventies punk album.

As a songwriter and frontman with his own band TRB, Tom spent 27 years as a recording artist and touring musician between 1975 and 2002 before hanging up his guitar strap to work full time presenting The Evening Sequence for BBC 6 Music.

He first began broadcasting in 1986 with a series of programmes for BBC World Service and Radio 1. From 1992-96, he presented Radio 4's pioneering men's series The Locker Room, while his gay music documentary Hide Your Love Away won a Sony Award for the BBC in 1997.

He currently presents the series Icons for Radio 3 and occasional programmes for Radios 2 and 4.
